Tony Campolo and the Hour

Tonight Barb and I watched the Hour. We watch this show quite a bit now. We really like this show which is hosted by George Stromboulopolus from the CBC. This show is all over the map spiritually, which I think is cool. They feature all sides of the story so to speak. Anyway, tonight they had Tony Campolo on. He was talking about how politics and religion have become glued together and how people in the states are being judgmental if one is a Christian and not a republican. He says that Christians are completely missing the point of the bible when they act in this manner. With over 2000 verses in the bible speaking about the poor, Campolo says that we are tragically missing the point of the bible and of Christ. What was really cool was how Campolo painted a picture of Jesus that was as accurate as any I've ever heard. He said that people will be judged not on their theology but on what they did for the poor. Jesus said, "I assure you, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me." Very good interview, funny as well!

Book Suggestion

If you have boys or are having boys I recommend this book by James Dobson. Not only as a parent but as a youth minister I found this book to be very informative. Along the lines of this book I will also recommend Wild at Heart by John Eldridge. These books really gave me a clear understanding of how boys operate. These books for me were and are life changing books. I grew up with my dad not around. Even when he was around, he wasn't around if you know what I mean. These books cemented the importance of being involved in a boys life. Not around, but involved. Anyway, highly recommend these books.

Bobby Lou

How accurate is this picture? With the exception of Willie Mitchell and Trevor Linden I think it is pretty close. Anyway I know this is way late but I just got the picture and thought it was too good to not show people. Who is going to win Ottawa or Anaheim? I pick Anaheim based on the their defense and their third line which is a really good checking line, which Ottawa's top line has not really seen yet in these playoffs. Let me know your thoughts. Peace.

Dani California

Well I'm back. I couldn't remember my password to my other blog and didn't feel like using that one anyway, so I thought I would come back with a brand new blog, K-Rawk style. Cheesy hey? Yes, I got the name from the Red Hot Chili Peppers song Dani California. I thought the name was cool and I love California so it seemed cool. Hopefully she likes it when she gets older. Gotta run. Barb wants to cuddle on the couch. Peace.
